Course Description:
OpenLayers is a JavaScript library for displaying maps in a web browser. Highly extensible, it accesses data through industry standards and remains free of server-side dependencies.
GeoExt is a JavaScript library for creating rich web mapping applications. It combines the web mapping library OpenLayers with Ext JS, a cross-browser JavaScript library for building rich internet applications. GeoExt provides a suite of customizable widgets and data handling support that makes it easy to build applications for viewing, editing, and styling geospatial data.
OpenLayers and GeoExt are core components of the OpenGeo Suite.
This full day course will introduce attendees to OpenLayers and GeoExt. Attendees will learn how to create browser-based map applications and display data from a variety of sources. Basic JavaScript syntax will be covered.

Who should attend:
Anyone interested in web mapping is encouraged to attend, but familiarity with
basic GIS concepts is suggested. Experience with JavaScript will not be assumed.
